I am a documentary style storyteller capturing genuine emotions and authentic moments. I hope for each image I capture to spark joy, evoke a memory and ignite a fire in your hearts.

I want your wedding album to reflect not only the love you have for one another, but also the love and joy that your family and friends feel in being there to share in the very beginning of the rest of your lives together. I aim to capture every detail that you’ve laboured over, every glance shared and every loving embrace. It is important to me that you both feel comfortable, relaxed, and are able to enjoy every aspect of your day, because it’s that joy I’m there to capture.

I am a mother of three, a primary school teacher, a shutterbug and a creative. I believe in lifelong learning and I am forever expanding my skill set and finding new dreams to chase. I unapologetically wear a number of hats and I believe it makes me better at what I do, and what I bring to the table as a photographer.

I have always been a creative at heart, yet until now, I have struggled to find my own identity within that field. I studied Art Education and Graphic Design at university. I graduated as a qualified designer and high school Visual Arts and Design and Technology teacher. My degree gave me direction, yet I still didn't know which direction I wanted to take. I took a year off and made sandwiches in the cafe I worked at throughout uni. I met my now husband. I travelled. I soul searched. I realised that I wanted to inspire and shape young creative minds. I went back to university to extend my qualifications to include Primary education. I finished, and secured a job teaching Year 1 in a beautiful forward thinking school. This was what I was meant to be doing. Yet deep down, I still felt that something was missing.

Whilst on maternity leave with my first born, I felt that I had lost a part of myself on my transition into motherhood. I yearned to be creative again, to do something just for me. I dusted off my travel weary DSLR camera and enrolled in a photography course. I had always been a passionate taker of photos, but had never had the courage to tackle manual photography or take photos for anyone but myself. This course opened my eyes and lit a fire in my soul. I was inspired beyond measure and finally felt that I had found that thing that I was meant to be doing all along.

I dove in headfirst. I photographed friends and their families. I was passionate about all things birth and was lucky enough to be invited in to photograph the moment some of my friends' first children entered the world. I captured squishy newborns just days after they were born, and couples as they transitioned from a team of two to a family of three. I was finally wholeheartedly loving what I was doing, and lucky enough to be able to call it 'work'. I did more courses, I expanded my skill set and I continued to learn. I began to truly develop and grow as a photographer.

I guess you could say I fell into wedding photography. One day a friend from school contacted me asking if I shot weddings. I felt honoured that she had thought of me as someone she wanted to capture one of her biggest days. I took the job incredibly seriously, and felt the full weight of pressure and expectation. It was exhilarating. I was swept away in the magic of it all and engrossed in capturing every single moment and emotion of the day. I felt like the luckiest person in the world to be chosen to immortalise such an important day. It was an all time high and I was hooked.

I am now lucky enough to have been there to capture couples on their wedding day, and then a few years later after they have welcomed a child or two into the world. I love watching couples grow into parents and into families, and get such joy out of being there to capture the evolution of their family.

If I sound like I'd be the right fit for you, whether it be to be there beside you on your wedding day, or to capture your babies or families, please get in touch. I'd love to hear from you.
